Taylor Swift’s Wonderstruck makes Asia Pacific debut at Changi

Elizabeth Arden has launched Wonderstruck, the first fragrance by 22-year-old American country pop singer Taylor Swift, in partnership with Nuance-Watson Singapore.

The fragrance is exclusive to the retailer’s Perfumes & Cosmetics stores in Changi Airport until end February. Changi is said to be the first airport to launch the scent in Asia Pacific.

The name Wonderstruck comes from the song ‘Enchanted’ on Swift’s album, Speak Now. Swift said: “I wrote the lyric, ‘I’m wonderstruck, blushing all the way home’, for the song ‘Enchanted’ about the first time you meet someone. A fragrance can help shape someone’s first impression and memory of you. It’s exciting to think that Wonderstruck will play a role in creating some of those memories.”

Swift worked with perfumer Olivier Gillotin of Givaudan, who drew inspiration from the singer’s favourite memories and scents. Wonderstruck is a gourmand floral – top notes include freesia, apple blossom and raspberry, while the heart is made up of vanilla, honeysuckle and white hibiscus; base notes comprise golden amber, sandalwood and peach.

The fragrance comes in a deep purple bottle with an iridescent rainbow finish, and is adorned with antiqued gold charms hand-picked by Swift: a Moravian star, a dove and a birdcage. The charms appear once again within the intricate detail of the embossed cap. The carton is a modern day patchwork which represents the fabrics Swift has collected on her travels. The finishing touch to the packaging is a gold embossed ‘13’, which fans will recognize as Swift’s lucky number.

Wonderstruck made its debut in the US in October 2011, taking the number two spot in the female fragrance category in the week of its release.

Wonderstruck is available in Nuance-Watson’s stores in edp format in 50ml and 100ml variants.
